DOT Press Release There is No “No-shoot Policy” in Rizal Park and Intramuros

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has released a press statement regarding the issue of “No-shoot Policy” in historical parks such as Rizal Park and Intramuros. According to National Park Development Committee NPDC Executive Director Juliet H. Villegas and Intramuros Administration IA Administrator Jose A. Capistrano, Jr. there is no ‘no-shoot policy’ in Rizal Park and Intramuros. They encourage the general public and visitors to take as much photos or even document it and share it to their friends or even on social networking sites.

Some Professional photographers and hobbyist gathered at Rizal Park last Friday and protested against the said policy. I am a blogger and also a photographer and I condemn this kind of prohibition. In my opinion, taking photos of historical parks and famous places in the Philippines can help boost the tourism campaign of our country.
