Outgoing President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared June 30, 2010 as a special non-working holiday. The day will be the inauguration of Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III as the new President of the Republic of the Philippines. This has been declared to allow the people to go to the inauguration site or watch it on TV or online live stream. The President, who ends her nine-year term at the end of the month, signed the holiday proclamation following the recommendation made by Executive Secretary Leandro Mendoza.
