The BlackBerry Torch is almost similar to Palm Pre in terms of appearance. This new phone has a 3.2-inch touchscreen with a HVGA resolution of 480 by 360 pixels. Unlike the Blackberry Storm that has no keypad, this new smartphone has a slider full QWERTY keypad similar also to Pre. So what’s new with this Blackberry Torch? First, the name “Torch” came from a Webkit browser called Torch Mobile. Second, it is powered by Blackberry OS 6.

The new Blackberry Torch is set to be release on August 12 at AT&T’s online and retail stores, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and RadioShack. The price is at $200 with 2-year service agreement and from two AT&T monthly data plan options, $15 for 200 MB of wireless data or $25 for 2 GB.
